From Jazz Guitar to Ray Charles to Jeff Beck to the Lou Volpe CD

What a great weekend we just had! Saturday night was my return to New Rochelle’s Poet’s Corner. There was a jam packed audience for my “Spring Awakening” concert which ended in a wonderful standing ovation. The audience also showed their love by purchasing so many Lou Volpe CD’s (we actually sold out of the “Undercovers” CD) and hanging out after the show to talk with me about the music, the guitars I used and future performance dates.

The director and producer of the show, Guru Madeleine (hear her radio show on WVOX 1460 AM every Friday at 3 PM) , has asked me to start a weekly jam session there  featuring the trio! Check this blog for more info on the starting date. Such an amazing place with amazing and wonderful people. Thank you POET’S CORNER!

On Sunday I played another concert at the Performing Arts Center at Queensborough College with my good friends, the Brawner Brothers. Once again, a jam packed full house in this beautiful theater with a full 15 piece band. So soulful and so much fun! “Kenny Brawner Is Ray Charles” is the name of the show and he was just perfect….. and sounding great in that role. The band was such a blast to play with.

Monday night found me in the audience at Jeff Beck’s show at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester. Jeff is always awesome. You’re taken away with that tone. What a sound! Such a great musician and great guy!

Now it’s back to a couple of mixing sessions this week and then getting the new CD mastered and pressed and ready for release and downloads! An inspiring weekend for sure.
